A Member to Member Matrix is a network structure where participants are arranged in a fixed-width, multi-level grid and earn commissions by directly paying or receiving payments from other members at defined positions — without funds pooling in a central account.
The “member to member” element means that when a commission or payout is triggered by the matrix structure, the money moves directly between two members’ wallets or bank accounts. The platform acts as the orchestration layer, not a financial intermediary holding funds.
Matrix dimensions and their implications:
- 2×2 matrix — each member has 2 direct slots below them; the board completes with 6 total members (the member + 6 positions across 2 levels)
- 3×3 matrix — 3 direct slots, board completes with 12 total members
- 5×5 matrix — larger structure with more positions, slower to complete but higher potential payout per cycle
Member-to-member flow in a matrix:
- A new member joins and fills a position in an existing member’s matrix
- The system calculates whether their joining payment should go to the position holder above them or to a specific member as defined by the compensation rules
- Once a matrix row or full board fills, triggered payments go directly to the qualifying member’s wallet
Key software requirements:
- Real-time position tracking across all active matrices
- Spillover logic to fill downstream positions when a member’s direct slots are complete
- Direct payment verification (blockchain or upload-based)
- Member dashboard showing their matrix position, filled slots, and projected completion
